Gods and Goddesses
From LiMaWiki
The gods and goddesses in the world of Geomancy are the sole creators of its denizens. They created the world and the other planes of existence through a common knowledge and understanding. The creators vowed to never influence the actions of another god or goddess. This created a balance in which the creators could exercise their own rights and worlds. At one point in early time, there was only the eight elemental planes, heaven, and hell. The gods and goddesses fractionated themselves and gave birth to elementals to roam the very different worlds. The elementals were obedient and never faltered when called by their masters.
Eventually, the creators grew tired of the order on the planes and came together in a great council. There, they devised a new planet, one filled with all sorts of conflicting creatures. They wanted to see what would happen if all eight elements came together and let them run their own lives. This gave birth to the material plane and subsequently, all the races of the world were born.
To prevent complete and utter destruction of their new planet, the gods and goddesses limited their contact with the tiny planet. The races did nothing but fight, and eventually all but the dwarves survived the countless wars as they had performed complete xenocide on the planet. The only reason the dwarves survived was because their innate ability to hide in cavernous mountains. The creators sent a meteor to erase the planet from the skies and they started over again.
On the third try, the gods and goddesses remained in contact with its people via temples and prayer. The creators took it a step further by bestowing a little power on creatures. This in turn, brought more prosperity to the world. Soon the little world grew and expanded. Creatures naturally began to use their powers for personal gain and war rocked the world once more. This time however, the races were on equal ground. Being able to conjure up storms and fire, heroes arose from humble beginnings and fought evil. Peace would once again return and the cycle of life continued.
Satisfied, the Gods and Goddesses of Mana watch as the centuries tick by. They let those who are able to use a part of their power to destroy or create. They forever vow to never physically interfere with the material plane, however, bits of their pure element are placed in well guarded temples throughout the material plane. On their own dominion, they reside and stand powerful over their element.
