[edit] 4th Edition
4th Edition as arrived, to my door at least! I am wondering what the Wiki has in mind for such things. What are all of your guys going to do when 4E hit here? --Tombowings 16:26, June 3, 2008 (UTC)
How did you get it early? I have next day air from Amazon for mine, and I don't have them yet. =) I'd love to see people post their campaigns, house rules, and any other ideas, tips, and the like here. Keep the Wiki going! --Phil 16:31, June 3, 2008 (UTC)
I work at the local game store now and I caught my boss helping himself to his own set. he agreed to give me the same benefits if I didn't mention the circumstances in which I got them to anyone. Well, I have a couple things I've changed and a short campaign write-up which I would be happy to post. I'm not sure where you would like that sort of thing posted. --Tombowings 16:57, June 3, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Closure
Since the home page is back to normal, does this mean that the site is safe *crosses figures*
Also, since I am without a credit card, is there any other way I can help to keep the site going?
- We are good for another year. Without a CC or Paypal, I'm not sure how you could help. Just keep using the site and keep it active. --Phil 21:37, March 18, 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Editing Anonymously
Ok, here's the deal. Anonymous editing has returned. However, you will need to enter CAPTCHA in order to be able to edit anonymously, register accounts, or in the case of Brute-force password cracking (you'll need to enter CAPTCHA if you goof logging in too many times). If this doesn't secure us, let me know!

[edit] Clocks and Time
I have altered the setup of the website so that most timestamps will be displayed UTC. However, if you have set a personal time in your preferences, it will display two different sets, one for your local time (or whatever you set it to) and some in UTC. This can be very confusing. If you could, set your offset, in your preferences, to 0 and it will display all times on this site as UTC. This way everyone can operate on the same clock and we will know how long ago something has been edited without having to calculate.
In addition, I have hacked in a clock to display in the upper left corner. This clock displays the time UTC. If you don't see it right away, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and refresh/reload the page. Just a note though, you must be using Monobook as your skin to see the clock. This is set in your preferences. If you haven't changed it, don't worry, Monobook is the default.
Enjoy!

[edit] Links & Imput
1) Im sure most gamer folks -- either across this site by chance or relentlessly hunting for something better -- copy what they like and move on... wouldnt it be nice if LiMaWiki had means of some quick imput from those said players requiring only tiny amount of thier time, as to help generate feedback? To use an example; PvXwiki - http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page - users creates a dozen pages per day, a meciless guanlet vetting process which goes from Concept/Trial phase that continues with Voting/Testing phase and ends as either Working or Tashed... on average, 5% of users contribute... while the other 95% vote. (Always, the end goal is to create the next 'Ultimate Builds' in a constantly fluctuating metagame). It could be simple as: A) Name, B) Your Vote/Opinion, C) Your Reasons... assuming impute has actually used said material [a Player] or reasonably knowledgeable of D&D [a fellow DM].
2) To increase profile, anyone think main page could use some helpful links to popular related sites, and perhaps have said sites link to LiMaWiki, to help generate more traffic (and thus fresh ideas & participants in these projects)?
- D&D Wiki - http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page - an Ultimate Classes link located somewhere under its Revise 3rd Edition Homebrew Content, as an example?
- Hypertext D20 SRD - http://www.d20srd.org/
- EN World D&D - http://www.enworld.org/forum/index.php?page=4e

[edit] Uploads
I've altered the upload settings to not only allow images, but to allow other media types. Specifically, you can now upload files with the following extensions.
[edit] Video
png, gif, jpg, jpeg
[edit] Audio
ogg, mp3
[edit] Documents
doc, txt, pdf
Please, don't abuse this though. Keep the file sizes small, and only upload legal material. If you screw that last part up, we all lose and this site gets shut down. So, enjoy the freedom I have given you and be smart. Oh, and tell your friends they now have a free host for their gaming related files. Again, and I can't be more clear about this, I'll host anything so long as it is legal (and remotely gaming related). [1]
[edit] Locked
The Main Page is now protected and cannot be edited. This is due to spam. I'll revert any spam I see, and I try to check EVERY page that is edited here. However, I cannot tolerate spam on the main page. I apologize if this inconveniences any of you. --Phil 03:23, August 19, 2007 (UTC)
[edit] ToM... Gone?
What happened to the Revised Tomes of Magic? ;_; --Falconeye
[edit] Notes
- ↑ Legal for you may not be legal for me. Please take this into account when uploading. If this is abused, I will remove this capability.
